What do we at Canoe2 offer?
Put simply, Canoe Hire!
And yet, so much more.
We Offer, A Moment, A New Perspective, A Chance to Relax, Rewind & Reconnect…
...with each other, with your surroundings, and with yourself.
And there’s much more to come in 2017.
We started out in 2010.
For seven years, we’ve been offering canoe hire on The River Nene in rural East Northamptonshire, with great safety & paddle briefings and oodles of great advice from knowledgable staff, and all the equipment you’ll need, including paddles, buoyancy aids, watertight containers and portage trolleys. The River Nene is a lovely calm, gentle river, and is perfect for the novice paddler, and wherever required, we include pick-up or drop-off at the start or end of your trip, so you only paddle downstream.
And we still offer this great, simple service to this day.
But just a year into our adventure, customers were asking for more. So, we introduced what has since become perhaps the most sought-after Canoe2 offering, our enhanced multi-day “Bundles” that also include overnight accommodation.
Discovering the most beautiful, tranquil stretches of river over 2 to 5 days, you can enjoy overnight stays in carefully selected Bed & Breakfasts, Inns or Hotels, or choose our wonderful “Comfy Camping” options, staying in our Yurt, Tipi, or Bell Tents. And wherever you stay we include fabulous breakfasts, and our all-important baggage transfer, creating trips you just won’t want to end (honestly, just take a look at our Canoe2 TripAdvisor page )
With trips running downstream toward Peterborough, and into Cambridgeshire, this beautiful stretch of river benefits from a wonderfully central location midway between London and Birmingham, within 30 minutes of both the M1 and A1.
The River Nene is one of Northamptonshire & Cambridgeshire’s finest assets and has a wealth of natural and historic beauty for you to enjoy in your Canoe.
Over our seven years we’ve introduced some 20,000 people to paddling The River Nene in rural East Northamptonshire. Hmmm…..... not quite true actually because loads of those trips have been the same customers coming back for more. But, you get the picture – We know what we’re doing, and we love it as much as you will.
In total, we estimate that our paddlers have covered in excess of 100,000 miles on the beautiful river Nene, and that doesn’t even include the “weaving” effect we often see as everybody is, ummm…. “practising their steering”
And in that time paddlers that have chosen to take a multi-day adventure have enjoyed a huge 5,000 overnight stays, some in our carefully selected fabulous B&B’s, some bringing their own tent along for the ride, but the vast majority taking advantage of our lovely family friendly “Comfy Camping” options.
5,000 overnight stays = a lot of breakfasts, keeping our excellent local butcher, and our equally eggcellent hens, very busy indeed!
We particularly pride ourselves on the highest levels of customer service, from your first enquiry, through to the final splash of your paddle, and beyond. If you’d like to know what our customers think, please check out our Canoe2 TripAdvisor page
Canoeing the Nene is great fun for everyone and our canoe hire & camping is regularly enjoyed by couples, families and groups of friends, as well as corporate gatherings (for both team-building days & client events).
With prices starting from £35 per canoe, you really can afford to Canoe2.
During 2017, we’re moving to the new Rushden Lakes leisure, retail & tourism development, where from late July 2017 we’re incredibly excited to be offering many new services including hire of paddle craft for shorter sessions on our lake, and opening our brand new shop where we’ll be looking forward to meeting & advising customers, as well as selling canoes, kayaks & equipment from our ecologically sound, ‘Net Zero’ Energy Building, “The Boathouse”.
We’ll even have a fabulous Meeting Room over-looking the lake, available for hire for corporate meetings, or private parties, and we particularly want to encourage community use, with lower pricing for use by local community organisations and charities.
So contact us on 01604 832115 to arrange your trip on the river, or talk over any queries you may have. We look forward to hearing from you.
Finally we request that you have a great time and enjoy your river adventure.
